Welcome to BARKS

The Boise Area Radio Kontrol Society *B.A.R.K.S* is a non-profit radio control *RC* model airplane club that is open to the public. Helicopters and multi-rotors are also flown and welcome at BARKS. The general public is welcome to visit the flying field when a BARKS member is flying *The gate will be open*.

The Flying Field

BARKS maintains a 40-acre flying field that is located off Kuna Mora Rd, southeast of Boise. Amenities included are; a 500 x 48 foot runway, covered pits with work-benches for tinkering and setup, work-benches for starting and tuning your glow powered aircrafts, a covered spectator area, and an on-site weather station for accurate, up-to-date weather information.

Annual events at BARKS include the SeptemberFest picnic, a community fly day, a swap meet in February, and a phenomenal Christmas Party. Additionally we also do small "Fun-Flys". A Fun-Fly is an informal flying event the weekend after the monthly meeting. The purpose of a Fun-Fly is to generate excitement, camaraderie, and well, HAVE FUN! Typical events include a bomb drop, quick take off and landings, and timed gliding contests. The Public is always welcome and encouraged to attend any and all BARKS Events!
